Kaizer Chiefs have hinted at extending Warriors striker Knowledge Musona's loan stay.

The TSG Hoffeinheim striker is on a season loan at the South African giants and is expected to return to Germany in July.

Having contributed fairly to Chiefs' Absa Premiership campaign with eight goals and four more strikes in the African Champions League, the club is determined to keep him for longer.

What strengthens speculation that Musona could remain in South Africa is Hoffeinheim's silence on his status.

Hoffeinheim did not respond to questions sent to the club about its plans with the Warriors striker. Musona's contract with the Bundesliga side ends in June 2016.

Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa told Standardsport that they were yet to make a decision on the forward but would love to keep him longer at Naturena.

"Knowledge is a very good player and there is no doubt about that," said Maphosa.

"Right now we are very busy concentrating on our matches so we have not yet decided on him. But we would be happy to have him in our team for long because he is so valuable to us. So for now let us just say no decision has been made on him because we are so busy. We are playing two matches per week and that has made us shelve some issues like Musona's case.

"By the end of the season we will have a clear picture on the player. The coach will make public his intentions then."

Musona last year snubbed QPR after the English Championship side had shown interest in him.

He also shunned Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda before opting for a return to Chiefs after a  wo-year stay in Germany where he was frustrated by lack of game time.

Hoffeinheim have been mum on the striker whom they loaned out to Augsburg last season and their silence has spiced speculation that they have no intentions on the striker, valued at 875 000 British Pounds.
