Zimbabwean international Ephraim Mazarura says he regrets the Warriors' failure to qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations but says the team must focus on the forthcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Mazarura, who plays for Swazi champions Mbabane Swallows, said the remaining 2014 World Cup fixtures are a chance for the Warriors to redeem themselves.
The goalkeeper who is currently on a mid-season break indicated his ambition for 2013 is to make a mark in the African safari where his side is set to meet Zambia's Zanaco in the first round set for next month.
Meanwhile, Nigeria has ignored Newcastle striker, Shola Ameobi for their 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad after he failed to answer their telephone calls.
Ameobi was named in the preliminary squad by coach Stephen Keshi, but it was later announced by Newcastle boss Alan Pardew that the 31 year-old would not travel to South Africa.
Ameobi made his debut for Nigeria last november in the friendly against Venezuela and Keshi was hopeful the former England under-21 international would be part of his squad for the competition, which kicks off on 19th of this month. Mazarura Warriors
