Mamelodi Sundowns intend sending transfer listed striker Simba Sithole back to his former club Caps United in Zimbabwe, after he was deemed excess to requirements just a year after being signed.

Sithole signed a five-year contract last year but has not played a single game, as he spent all his time either in the stands or battling with a hamstring injury.

KickOff.com has now been told that Sundowns have been in constant communication with struggling Caps and have reached an agreement for a reverse transfer of the 21-year-old.

The only potential glitch is how Sithole will complete his move back to Caps as the transfer window in Zimbabwe has already closed, leaving the option of a loan or club-to-club transfer out, unless a special agreement can be reached with the Zimbabwean PSL authorities.

At the moment Sithole still has four years remaining on his contract with Sundowns and must reach a settlement with the club first if he is to move on a free transfer.

Sithole recently tried his luck at University of Pretoria but failed to win a move to the PSL newboys and will remain at risk of not playing competitive football for another six months if he fails to find an immediate exit route from Sundowns.
