Zimbabwe qualifies on away goal rule
The Zimbabwe Warriors have qualified for the AFCON 2013 thanks to Knowledge Musona who slotted home a Khama Billiat cross midway into the first half.
Germany-based striker Knowledge Musona scored in the 36th minute to give the home side the edge in their bid to qualify for the 2013 Finals.
The hosts needed to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg played in Burundi in February.
The match presented huge tension for fans who feared that if Burundi scored, then they would go through. But Zimbabwe held on to their lead until the full 90 miutes, makin it to the next stage of 2013 qualifying.
Burundi kept knocking at the Warriors' door, with Tapuwa Kapini makin a crucial save, pushing a long-shot from Gilbert Kaze over the bar with 10 minutes to full time.
Zimbabwe were down to ten men after midfielder Willard Katsande was sent off for bringing a Burundi player down in the goalmouth in an off-the-ball incident.
Just before half-time Oscar Machapa nearly got a second for Zimbabwe as Burundi keeper Janvier Ndikumana spilled a free-kick.
