HIGHLANDERS will use the Gushungo Celebrations Cup against old foe Dynamos on Sunday to identify players the Bulawayo giants are likely to register for the 2015 season.

The match is slated for the giant National Sports Stadium.

The decision by Highlanders comes amid reports that 75 percent of their players will not have their contracts renewed upon expiry at the end of the year.

Amahlolanyama chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede told Chronicle Sport on Sunday that the rebuilding exercise would start with the Dynamos game on Sunday.

"We're going to field players whom we feel could still be part of the club next year. There's no point in using someone who won't be with us," said Gumede.

Highlanders started the season on a high and were always on the championship radar until their world spectacularly collapsed in the second half of the season. At one time they found themselves in the relegation zone as they continued with their free fall.

The two giants will be meeting for the fifth time this season with the Glamour Boys emerging victorious in all the four clashes so far.

Dynamos posted identical 1-0 wins in the two League matches, beat Bosso 2-0 in the Bob90 Super Cup at Rufaro Stadium before clinching the TM Supermarkets Challenge trophy with an emphatic 4-1 scoreline.

The challenge match is meant to celebrate President Mugabe's resounding victory in last year's harmonised elections.

Meanwhile, Gumede said they were yet to be furnished with the rules and regulations of the match.

"The League has been told that tournament rules must be availed to us on time so that we know what we're playing for for planning purposes with our players," said Gumede.
