Premiership log leaders and Bulawayo soccer giants Highlanders will be out to strike the first psychological blow and stamp their authority against their perennial rivals Dynamos when the two titans clash at Barbourfields this afternoon.

Highlanders are currently riding on a high as they are unbeaten in the season and sit at the top of the log after amassing 32 points from their first 14 games.

Much of the success of the team that last lifted the title in 2006 is owed to Zambian gaffer Kelvin Kaindu who, since taking over the reins, has turned the once fallen giant into a formidable outfit capable of mounting a challenge for the title this time around.

Since then Highlanders have adopted an uncharacteristic new brand of attacking football led by a very young, hungry and eager group of players.

While Kaindu barks orders from the touchline, all the praise and adoration has been lauded on the team's youngsters who, in turn, have banged in 21 goals and conceded only eight in their path of destruction.

Bosso have seen their success built around agile goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda, captain Innocent Mapuranga, roving linkman back Eric Mudzingwa, Bruce Kangwa in the defence while veteran midfielder Mthulisi Maphosa, Warriors trialist Simon Munawa, Graham Ncube and Milton Ncube lead the quest for goals.  Having already made light work of pretenders like FC Platinum (2-0), CAPS United (1-0) and even Shabanie Mine (2-0), Highlanders will now turn their attention to reigning league champions Dynamos in today's largely anticipated titanic clash.

Should Highlanders walk away with the three points, the result could hinder Dembare's confidence as the season reaches the halfway mark.

A win for Bosso is likely to strengthening their title charge even further, and probably put the Bosso faithful into override, given their last win against the champions came in the championship-winning season of 2006.
