Zim be wary of the fox Mugabe but even more wary of the easily outfoxed MDC

The trouble with having a motor-mouth like Mwonzora is his speaks without ever thinking out what he is going to say or what he has said.

"We are saying in this campaign that the future of this country is more important than anyone else in this country at the moment. We are talking about the future of our children . . . hence the consultation campaign," said Mwonzora.

"The second thing is that everyone irrespective of their political affiliation is important and has a part to play in the reconstruction of this country and should be listened to and be given a chance to say out what he or she thinks about the country's future."

Well if motor mouth had stopped to think then he would have realised that the ultimate practical demonstrate of everyone having a meaningful say is in the individual having a meaningful vote in a free, fair and credible elections. Zimbabwe had a real chance of having its first ever free, fair and credible elections all motor mouth and his MDC friends had to do was implemented the democratic reforms already agreed in the GPA.

MDC had the majority in the GNU parliament and cabinet and had five years in which to implement the reforms. SADC Heads of State, donors, international community and many Zimbabweans reminded MDC to implement the reforms again and again throughout the GNU life but they paid no heed. In the end, MDC failed to get even one reform implemented. Not even one!

MDC was elected into office on the basis the party will deliver democratic change which is what the party name says. But as soon as they got into power they forgot about the promised changes and ignored all those who reminded them of the critical importance of getting the reforms implemented if there were to be free, fair and credible elections. Motor mouth and his MDC friends did not care about restoring the people's basis and fundamental right to a meaningful vote.

They had promised the democratic changes to win the people's trust and vote, once elected they were on the gravy train, had the snouts down in the feeding trough they forgot all about the promises.

Ever since the rigged July 2013 elections which saw many MDC leaders lose their parliamentary seats included our friend motor mouth Mwonzora, Morgan Tsvangirai and good many others, MDC has regrouped to make new promises.

Motor mouth Mwonzora is saying here everyone is to be "given a chance to say out what he or she thinks about the country's future;" to what end and purpose, he does not say because he has not thought this through. The only say people must demand today is a meaningful vote in free, fair and credible elections. For the nation to have such elections we must go back and have all the democratic reforms, motor mouth and his MDC friends should have implemented, implemented.

Ever since the rigged July2013 elections Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs have come under increasing pressure as it became evident that the regime could not rig economic recovery as well to deliver the 2.2 million jobs they promised and alleviate the economic hardship caused by the current economic meltdown. This is the nation's chance to demand that Mugabe and his regime step down to allow the democratic reforms to be implemented and then fresh free, fair and credible elections held. Nothing would please Mugabe more than to take up motor mouth and MDC's alternative wishy-washy proposal of giving everyone "a chance to say out what he or she thinks about the country's future" which will leave Zanu PF's vote rigging system in place and untouched at the end of the day.

Mugabe and Zanu PF are the main obstacle stopping us getting out of this political and economic hell-hole, there is no question on that one. Still we must never lose sight of what MDC are doing because it was their breath-taking incompetence in failing to implement the critical reforms that allowed Mugabe to rig the 2013 elections. If we are not careful MDC will make all the empty promises again and deliver nothing as before; all they want is to be back on the gravy train.

I say therefore that we must be wary of the cunning and deceptive fox, Mugabe, but we must be even more wary of those MDC hounds who have already shown that at the critical stage with the fox cornered and you throw a chicken bone they all fight over it letting the fox get away. MDC betrayed the nation as soon as they got on the gravy train, they will do so again if we ever elected them again!
