A Kezi juvenile aged 14 hung himself in his bedroom hut using a shoelace after he stole watermelons and 400rands.

The money and watermelons belonged to his neighbor.

Fearing that he would be reported to the police and arrested the suicide was easy option for the boy.

Matabelelaland South police spokesperson, Loveness Mangena this morning said the incident happened last Friday in the evening.

Mangena said after fruitless efforts by the deceased neighbors to locate him, they found his uncle Zwelithini Ncube and told him of the theft.

They later managed to find the boy and interrogated him and agreed to report the matter at Maphisa Police Station.

However, barely ten minutes after he had taken his supper the boy went to his hunt, grabbed a shoelace and hung himself.

The lifeless body was found by his uncle.
