A 12 year old Mangwe girl in Matabeleland South was savagely whipped to death, dragged down a rocky hill while screaming by her angry mother for bunking lessons.

The grisly murder by Mavis Moyo happened last week after the deceased grade five girl at Mhlotshana Primary School skipped school on February 8.

Matabeleland South police spokesperson Loveness Mangena confirmed the incident.

"Moyo beat up her daughter using two rough sticks all over the body until she fainted and died" said Mangena.

It is said that upon learning that her daughter did not report for class, Moyo confronted her and beat her up.

While in pain Moyo ordered her daughter to go to school but she fled into the bush where there are hills.

While the girl was still nursing her wounds, her mother still under the rage ambushed the hapless girl, found her in an unconscious state.

That did not prevent her from further beating her daughter as punishment for defying instructions.

She also dragged down the rocky hill leaving her for dead.

 Moyo now face murder charge.
