Former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Gideon Gono yesterday revealed that the former advisor to the central bank Eric Bloch was against the removal of zeros from the country's currency that reached a pack of 24.

Gono who was speaking at Bloch's memorial service let the cat out of the bag in a moving ceremony where Bulawayo mayor Martin Moyo also said the late economist could have been conferred chieftaincy if he had lived during King Lobengula's time.

Narrating a dialogue among him and Bloch's children, Mark, Barry and Ruth, Gono revealed that he and Bloch removed the zeros from the national currency, saying the late Bloch whom he presumes to be in heaven is probably urging God to bring back the zeros.
