Children of some of Zimbabwe's freedom fighters will on Thursday walk 89 kilometres from Zanu-PF Headquarters in Harare to Bindura in honour of President Robert Mugabe's birthday.

Children of Zimbabwe Freedom Fighters national spokesperson, Liberty Bizure said President Mugabe's leadership has transformed many people's lives in and out of the country's boarders as he is a true pan-African leader who has strongly stood for black emancipation.

Bizure said: "We are walking from the party headquarters as we want to honour our good leader who has stood for black empowerment.

"His life is worth celebrating through the 89 km walk signifying the 89 years he has spent."

Bizure said the 89 km walk which will be penned in history books is open to every youth who wants to celebrate the Zimbabwean leader's life.

The President stood the taste of time showing great leadership skills in safeguarding and upholding the goals of the liberation struggle.
