Man in court for urinating in wife's pots

A Harare man is in the habit of of urinating in pots and other household utensils in a bid to frustrate his wife and force her to leave their matrimonial home, a court heard.

George Sande was at loggerheads with his  wife Plaxedes Chinyama who was seeking a peace order against him. She  accused him of assaulting her and developing a nauseating habit of urinating at her kitchen wares.

"My husband  is in the habit of urinating in the pots and other utensils. I was also forced to dump my rice and sweets, which I intended to sell after he urinated on it. He has also stopped eating food at home and has since stopped paying rentals. My husband indicated to me that he was doing it in a bid to evict me," she said.

Quizzed on why he urinates in his wife's pots, George said he did it once!

"I only urinated in her pots once and I have since replaced the soiled pots with new ones. I never urinated on her rice. What irked me most was the fact that her brothers came to my place of residence and assaulted me. This was after my wife had sprinkled acid on all my clothes," he said.

Magistrate Milton Serima who presided over the case ordered George to stop assaulting, insulting or intimidating his wife. He also advised him that he risks being jailed for five years if he breaches the court order.
