There was drama at Harare civil court when a married woman revealed top 'family secret' before a packed court. The woman, Portia Mutamba told the court that her husband, Rockwell Chibarinya was once given a thorough beating by a prostitute in the full view of the whole family after he failed to pay for the services rendered by the thigh vendor.

Portia, who was seeking a protection order against Rockwell, accused him of being of verbally and physically abusing her.

"Rockwell was brutally bashed by a suspected prostitute who was demanding her money from him. She said the money for the services she had offered to him and she bashed my husband while our children and I were watching. It was just so embarrassing," she said.

Portia added that Rockwell is in turn beating her unnecessarily in front of the public and their children. She said she has had enough of the physical and verbal abuse hence she had approached the court to grant her protection order against her husband.

Responding to the allegations, Rockwell denied ever being thoroughly beaten by a 'adult pleasure engineer'.




"There are lies. I was never beaten by any prostitute. I also never assaulted her. Portia has a problem of fabricating stories so that I can always be in trouble," he said.

Despite Rockwell's claims that his was lying and fabricating stories to get him in trouble, Magistrate Milton Serima, who presided over the case, granted the protection order in Portia's favour. Rockwell is to refrain from physically or verbally abuse Portia.
