Maposa appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Court last Thursday and was ordered to perform the community service at Rhodesville Police Station.
He was the chairman of Trans Tobac Residents Committee in Msasa and represented residents at the compound where he was also staying.
The company was sold and Millennium Tobacco Sales Auction Floor are now operating from there.
After it was sold, Maposa claimed ownership of the houses and ordered residents not to pay rentals to Millennium Tobacco Sales Auction Floor administration offices.
The electricity bills accumulated to US$70 000, which prompted Zesa Holdings to switch off electricity at the compound.
Some of the residents organised themselves and contributed some money before approaching Zesa officials where they made a payment plan.
They had power restored at their houses and the other residents represented by Maposa raised US$3 500 which they handed over to him to work out a payment plan with Zesa but he failed to do so.
The residents allegedly made a report to the police, leading to the arrest of Maposa and his two accomplices.
On April 4, Maposa's accomplices were discharged due to lack of evidence.
