Police in Zimbabwe have denied investigating the finance minister Tendai Biti after a state- controlled newspaper yesterday reported a probe.
Sunday Mail yesterday cited police saying they were investigating Biti over a $20 million International Monetary Fund loan deposited in Zimbabwe's Interfin Bank, a unit of Interfin Financial Services Ltd.
Wayne Bvudzijena, the main spokesman for the police, said in an interview that he had not spoken to the Sunday Mail and was unaware of any probe. Biti did not answer calls to his mobile phone when sought for comment today. Biti Investigating Police
