A Bindura man aged 80 said to have 42 children with five women has been arrested for wedding illegally after his first wife blew the whistle on him.

Michael Kunaka was sold out by his 78 year old wife, Margaret who feared that she could lose two houses they bought together in Bindura and Harare.

Kunaka was initially sentenced to 6 months in jail but three were suspended for five years by Jackie Munyonga.

A further three months were set aside on condition that he pays $100. The court heard that Margaret reported his hubby to the police after he secretly married his second wife, Rowesayi under the Marriages Act Chapter 5.11 which binds a man to one wife.

Kunaka had married Margaret in 1962 under customary marriage. But last year, Kunaka pretended that he was ill and his second wife, Rowesayi took him to a hospital.

However, their plan was to get married.

The two have 12 children together.

But Margaret got wind of the arrangement are reported to the police which led to Kunaka's arrest. Octogenarian arrested wedding
