After several attempts to dissuade Mpala from her bubby Nyengeterai Mashungu got fed up on April 28 and decided to put an end into her habits.
Mashungu hired two of her friends and stormed Mpals's house.
The gang assaulted Mpala, shoved her head into a manhole.
During the assault Mashungu grabbed Mpala's hand and which had a ring a threatened to cut it off is she resisted.
Mashungu removed the ring and left her in pain. After recovering, Mpala dragged herself to a police station and filed a report leading to Mashungu being arrested.
Mashungu is now in police cells till May 21.
