A bomb disposal unit in Bulawayo rushed to National University of Science and Technology after a bomb like object was spotted at the premises.

Students and university staff are said to have panicked at the time the object was discovered by security guards.

University director of information Felix Moyo confirmed the reports this week.

'Our security guards picked up the object while slashing grass close to a gate leading to Killarney suburb," said Moyo.

Police bomb squad was called in and took the object but final tests results are not yet known. However, students are said to have been terrified when news of the object spread through the campus.
