Mthwakazi National Party (MNP) readied itself for elective conference and general elections. At a meeting held in Bulawayo on Sunday members of the newly formed Mthwakazi National Party mapped the way forward for the party in the run-up to the general elections whose date is yet to be announced.

It was agreed that the party will only be contesting in the general elections within the borders of Mthwakazi better known as Matabeleland and Midlands based on the Jameson Lines drawn in 1891. The party also said it recognizes the diverse cultural, linguistic and heritage society which have suffered much oppression over 119 and is committed to seeing that these are revived, celebrated and preserved.

At the same meeting the party agreed that its first national elective conference will be held in August this year in Bulawayo.
