Model and Stylish Global Citizen for Zimbabwe Fashion Week Awards 2013

We are excited to inform you that 2 of our Top Brands, Super Model - Tholakele Dlamini and Global Citizen - Gilmore T. Moyo, were part of this years Zimbabwe Fashion Week Awards 2013. The awards were hosted on the last day of the fashion week, Saturday the 31st of August 2013 at the Sam Levys in Borrowdale, Harare, Zimbabwe. The 4 day event which saw to Headline International Designer Gavin Rajah show case, ended on the 31st with awards appreciating those that have played a pivotal role in the Fashion Industry of Zimbabwe.

Each year, Zimbabwe Fashion Week closes the week of showcases and exhibitions with the Zimbabwe Fashion Awards. The awards are primarily aimed at acknowledging and rewarding individuals and organisations that have been outstanding and consistent in their contribution to Zimbabwe's fashion industry. The nominees are voted for by the general public, with the final, main nominees being announced on the night and the winner. This year's fashion awards saw the lead singer of one of South Africa's most popular dance acts, South African Music sensation Tamara Dey, performing with some of Zimbabwe's freshest talent.

In huge demand at fashion shows, on television shows and for club and corporate performances, Dey has managed to cross various cultural, age and language barriers since she was discovered by DJ Pepsi who introduced her to Oscar Mdlongwa (popularly known as DJ Oskido) of Brothers of Peace (BOP).  The result was a collaboration, which produced the chart-topping Thathi 'Mphahlayakho that launched her career.

The categories for Zimbabwe Fashion Awards 2013 were as follows:

4.    Contributor to fashion media award
5.    Fashion contributor of the year
6.    Fashion Blogger of the year
7.    Best styled man of the year
8.    Best styled woman of the year
9.    Style Icon of the year
10.   Male model of the year
11.   Female model of the year
12.   Accessories designer of the year
13.   Emerging designer of the year
14.   Young designer of the year
15.   Designer of the year

We are proud to inform you that, our Super Model – Tholakele Dlamini who was the only Bulawayo Model, WON Female Model of the Year 2013 Award. Miss Dlamini was Zimbabwe's representative at the Face of Africa in 2010, she later went on to Model at some of Africa's Top Fashion Show that many can only dream of. After moving back to Zimbabwe, she signed with Hunnar Management Agency, which has resulted to her coming back in the Fashion Industry with a BANG. With the agency, she has managed to be the Head Model for Deck Magazine's CoFFashion Event in 2012, Grace the Cover of Domino Magazine and now modeling at Zimbabwe Fashion Week and winning the Award.

Conversely, the Stylish Global Citizen – Gilmore T. Moyo, not new to the public was a Nominee for Style Icon of the Year 2013. The Senegal Based Zimbabwean was not able to attend the awards as he is currently in West Africa. Gilmore is not new to the entertainment industry, especially in the fashion world. The 23 year old manages Top Designers, Rebelious Klothing, BlinQ, Lorraine Ndlovu of Rebel Bags and Shadow By Sidumiso. He has been seen as a guest model at the Elizabeth Chanakira Fashion Show in 2012, working with huge fashion houses across the globe and being a stylish sounded individual. He has represented many brands in Zimbabwe and has contributed immensely to building them, through his sense of style.
