No frickle, no joking, it will be all sound blasting, Thomas Mapfumo himself today hand in glove, at the centre of the world  - London, for a loaded 6 hour non stop session, before he skirts around the UK for other shows throughout the weekend.

It is just a few hours before the show begins, just as the Chimurenga string blaster lands in London this morning for his UK tour beginning in the borough of Barking, then in the city of Leicester and finally ending in Buckinghamshire. Scores of Zimbabweans are preparing to flood into London's Barking to see the man who has been missing from the UK for more than 3 years.

Apart from thumbing his all-time classics, Mapfumo will be playing his new album titled Danger Zone, together with bits from the recent Exile.

His rapper son Tapfumanei, popularly known by his stage name "Tai", is expected to make his UK debut live on stage as a curtain raiser for his father.

Speaking to ZimEye just before boarding his plane in New York, Mapfumo said he is on English soil this morning.

"I will speak to you in a few hours' time on British soil; I am just about to board the plane right now," he said.
