Harare model, Chiedza Mukucha received the perfect birthday present from the Zimbabwean public, winning the Miss June G Tel -Face of Zimbabwe title in the same week as her 21st birthday, shrugging off competition from Cyprus based Linda Madzara and Letwin Tiwaringe who finished as runner ups.

Chiedza's wins follows the crowning last month of Sarah van de Ruit as Miss May in the popular global online pageant  emerging as one of the most exciting beauty competitions to come out of Zimbabwe. Face of Zimbabwe which recently signed a deal with Telecoms Company G-Tel as the headline sponsor has also finalised discussions in which Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) will become a technical partner in the competition's finale which is to be held at the HICC on the 15th of December.

The Miss June winner who looks inch perfect in her natural African look appearance is primed to make waves on the international scene. The Glen-View based beauty has previously competed in the Miss H-Metro competition and in Miss Zimbabwe 2011.

Speaking after being announced as the June winner, Chiedza was ecstatic, she said "I am so excited that the public and the judges who voted have seen potential in me, it is a humbling experience to become a tourism ambassador for my country on the international scene and I am looking forward to the challenge".

US based musician, Cee Jay Besa who sits on the Face of Zimbabwe judging panel explaining why he endorsed her said "Chiedza is one of those stand our model who commands presence by her looks without even trying too hard.  In my opinion, she may just be the one to watch in this competition" said the ‘One ariega' singer.

Another judge, popular UK radio presenter, Priscilla Nalana described Chiedza as a ‘rare find' with features very much similar to Zimbabwe born, Nyasha Matonhodze currently making waves on the international modelling circuits.

Mike Tashaya who is Face of Zimbabwe's marketing director in a statement released to the media also announced the appointment of Judith Claire Williams who runs Model Management International to the Face of Zimbabwe Board of Trustee.

He added "We are excited to have Judith on board and have no doubt that FOZ will benefit from her immense experience and industry knowledge". We are committed to growing Face of Zimbabwe into a national project for which all Zimbabweans can take ownership and we are grateful for the support we are receiving from the Zimbabwean public". He said.

Face of Zimbabwe is a global online pageant in which Zimbabweans all over the world are eligible to enter in monthly cycles and voted for by the public. The 12 monthly finalists will then meet at the grand finale to be held in Zimbabwe at the end of the year to select the Face of Zimbabwe for 2013.
