BULAWAYO house music fans are in for a treat tomorrow night when prominent South African DJ, Tira, performs at Country Rest Camp.

The show will be the first by the South African DJ in the city in a year, after he gave a scintillating performance at Horizon Club last year.

In an interview, one of the organisers of the show, Marshall Mpofu said all was set for tomorrow's (Saturday) show.

"I can confirm that DJ Tira will be at Rest Camp on Saturday night and fans can expect nothing less than fireworks. Tira has been one of the biggest artistes in South Africa for the past five years or so and we expect a sell out crowd for Saturday because he also has a big following here in Bulawayo," he said.

Mpofu promised a stellar performance from Tira, saying they would put to bed the perception that Bulawayo promoters tolerated substandard performances from South African artistes. He said Tira would defy popular sentiment and give a resounding performance as he had already done before on his previous visits to the country.

"Tira has been here at our invitation before. He and Oskido left fans begging for more last time they played at the Drive Inn.

"They played until the early hours of the morning and that is the sort of performance that fans can expect on Saturday night. We have a reputation that we want to enhance and people should just come and see for themselves," he said.

Mpofu said Tira would be mingling with fans before his performance on Saturday while he would also give away tickets to the show. Local DJs set to perform on the night include DJs, McVusani, Kananjo and Slammar.

He encouraged interested local performers not already included in the night's programme to make themselves available for Saturday's show.

"Tira will mix and mingle with fans at 2pm on Saturday afternoon at the Pac Shed clothing shop. He will also give away three tickets to his gig. Local acts that want to become part of the show can leave their names and contact details at Pac Shed," he said.

Tickets for the show are going for $10, increasing to $15 as the night wears on, while those in the VIP section will have to fork out $30. The show kicks off at 5pm.
