To shut down 2014 Fashionably, Ibumba Festival in conjunction with Hunnar Management Agency will be hosting iFashion Fest 2014, a fashion show that will feature 10 Zimbabwe Designers & Street Brands at Stanley Hall in Makokoba on Saturday, 20 December 2014. The event is a celebration of Bulawayo fashion and also acknowledging the contribution of fashion as a whole to the growth of the creative industries in Zimbabwe.

iFashion is basically a direct saying in Ndebele of saying Fashion. Fest is short for festival, hence the two words makes it easy for even the elderly to say them as they have a vernacular twist to pronouncing them. The idea behind the name of the fashion, which hopefully will happen every year of Ibumba Festival, is to make it interesting and modernised for the younger ones that have changed many English words to Ndebele. Also it is inspired by Ibumba {iFashion}.

To kick off the first ever iFashion Fest, 10 Zimbabwean Designers will be showcasing alongside some entertainment including, Lady Tshawe, the dance crew Explosion & Mbo Mahocs. The events poster features Super Model – Nobuhle Nkala dressed in Ganu Creations and photgraphed by KB Mpofu.

"The inspiration behind the poster is drawn from the need to use local models and personalities on events we hold in Zimbabwe. It is high time our own festivals, fashion initiatives and individuals involved in the entertainment industry to promote our own products. There is no need in having Alicia Keys or any of those individuals on our posters when we have great photographers and models that we can also celebrate. The idea is to relate to any individual off the streets through the marketing material."

Designers showcasing are Litso Fashion Label, who recently showcased at the Zambia Fashion Week, Sanah Designs, 2 timer winner of Clothing Indaba, Noliwe Mhlope, who will be showcasing for the first time, Crox Designs, who was a Nominee at the Matabeleland Fashion Week, Street brand – Bulawayo Hustler, Bulawayo Polytechnic students, Penelope Creationz, Younique and House of Mutu. Chinhoyi University graduate, Immaculate Kwashira & street wear brand, Rags will also showcase.

"The fashion show should be one of the most memorable ones for 2014. We have great partners to pull it together, from the furniture, music, models, designs, the audience and the venue. We are bringing fashion to Bulawayo's Oldest suburb, and there is nothing more exciting than working on such a project."
