Another Bulawayo company faces collapse
A local (Bulawayo) button-making firm, Coronet Buttons and Plastics, is reportedly facing imminent collapse after its general manager quit last month due to mounting salary arrears, dating back to December last year.The firm's 39 employees had not been paid over the past six months.The company incorporates Heliotextile Africa.The workers said the general manager, Msoka Banda, resigned in March over mounting debts, leaving the firm under the control of an accountant identified as Mzingaye Mdlawuzo."It appears no one owns this company at the moment. Only the accountant is in charge," said a worker."We have not been paid for six months. We are at times given $5, $10, $20 or $50 per month.
