A Technical director at Dunlop in Bulawayo has been elected to head the Matabeleland chapter of the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI).

Although details are still sketchy, Bulawayo24 understands that Cletus Moyo was elected president in Bulawayo last Friday.

Before he assumed the presidency, outspoken Dr Ruth Labode was the president for the last two years.

Labode was very critical with the administration of Distressed and Marginalised Areas Fund (DIMAF) which is aimed at reviving industries in Bulawayo.

Moyo will be assisted Themba Sibanda and Shingi Samuriwo as his two vice presidents.

Moyo is a Chemistry graduate from the University of Zimbabwe and also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University of Science and Technology.

He has more than 10 years working experience with Dunlop after starting his working career with Kango in the City of Bulawayo in the 1990s.

Moyo was recently seconded to Dunlop South Africa where he was based in Ladysmith work shadowing Dunlop directors in South Africa.

Mr Emmanuel Moyo an industry analyst commended the Cletus Moyo's appointment, he said, "I have known Cletus for a long time, the man is a hard worker and a leader. Matabeleland CZI will definitely benefit from his election."
