Zim's Diara takes the world best in Spain

Zimbabwe's sole representative at the 14th IAAF World Junior Championships set for 10 - 15 July in Barcelona's Olympic Stadium on Montjuïc Mountain, Dumisani "Diara" Bhebhe takes to the track on Tuesday midday.

The 19 year old Gwanda born Diara arrived in Barcelona on Sunday after traveling alone on Saturday.

He would complete with the world best juniors in the 100 and 200 metres respectively. He made the grade in Namibia in April when he clocked 10.59 seconds and 21.24 seconds in 100 and 200 metres races respectively.

According to the races timetable, the first 100 metre race is on Tuesday, 12.35.

The semi-finals are set for 7.30pm and the finals at 9.45pm.

 The 200 metre race are on on Thursday at 9.55 am and that is the first round and the semi-finals are set for 7pm.

The finals are penciled for 9.30pm on Friday.

Before his departure last week, Diara, an  upper six student in Gwanda High School said he is looking forward to reaching finals of both competitions.

 He has represented Zimbabwe in Botswana, Swaziland and  Mozambique.
