SOUTH Africa-based local cage fighter Elvis "Bulawayo Bomber" Moyo suffered his third defeat in the Extreme Fighting Championship Africa when he was subdued by Poland's Tomasz "Kredka" Kowalkowski at Carnival City in Johannesburg last Saturday.

The Zimbabwean pugilist was knocked out just 37 seconds into the first round when his giant opponent kneed him.

A disappointed Moyo, who thought he was going to last the EFC non-championship bout's three rounds of five minutes each, conceded defeat.

"I made a big mistake as I started on a low stance thinking that since most of the people I had fought before took me down Kredka was also going to do the same.

"Unfortunately for me, the two metre tall fighter saw a gap and quickly used his knee to knock me out. I simply gave him that win and I'm disappointed because I'd been looking forward to my fourth consecutive victory," said a disappointed Moyo.

A victory against the Pole would have enhanced Bulawayo Bomber's chances of getting a title fight before the end of the year.

Before Saturday's fight, the Bulawayo Bomber had won four and lost twice in his six fights in the EFC Championship Africa.

Moyo's victories were against Sors "Guru" Grobbelaar in his debut cage fight in March 2014, Wilhelm "Tiny" Strauss in August and Didier-Kilola in November followed by Cerenio.

His defeats were against Brendon Groenwald in May and Andrew Van Zyl in July 2014.

Moyo won the World Boxing Federation African heavyweight belt in 2013 and now needs two consecutive victories to revive his EFC Championship title fight hopes.

The Tshaka Youth Centre product said heavyweight cage fighters on the continent are scared of facing him
