Buhera South legislator, Joseph Chinotimba and his son, Edwin have won a 440-hectare Hofstede farm wrangle after the High Court declared them the lawful occupiers of farm and ejected the occupier Foiard Brown.

This follows the upholding of their urgent chamber application seeking the removal of Foiard Brown (Pvt) Limited from occupying the acquired state land by Justice Chinembiri Bhunu.

In his ruling, Justice Bhunu found that the Foiard Brown (Pvt) Limited has no lawful authority to occupy and use the acquired state land, and declared Chinotimba's son, who was represented by Jonathan Samukange, the lawful occupier of the farm located in Chipinge district.

The parties could not agree on the disputed ownership of the immovable property on the farm leading to the court referring that matter for trial after instructing the parties to file the necessary papers in accordance with the rules of due process.
